Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.       James 1:27

In 1996 the founders of Alabaster Ministries, Bob and Kathy Fitts, scheduled a benefit concert in Kailua-Kona Hawaii to bless a widow.  While planning the concert, they still didn't know who the actual benefit would be for.  In the coming weeks, Bob visited Costa Rica and met a teen-aged girl at a worship conference there.  She told him that just two weeks prior, her father, Julio Ruibal had been assassinated in Cali, Colombia.

Immediately, Bob knew who would be the recipient of the benefit concert.  In April 1996, Ruth Ruibal and her assistant were flown to Kailua-Kona, Hawaii for a week of rest and refreshment, concluding with the concert where Ruth not only received a showering of finances, but also of flower leis as hundreds of people showed their love for her in the beautiful Hawaiian tradition.

Since then, fatherless and widows around the world have been receiving support and encouragement from Alabaster Ministries.  From time to time, special projects are undertaken, and this website has photos of those projects.  Through your generous donations, monthly support goes to organizations working specifically with these most vulnerable people in South Africa, The Mekong River Basin (Southeast Asia), Romania, and the U.S.  If you would like to target your donation to a specific geographic area, please send an email indicating your desire.

Alabaster Ministries provides material, financial and spiritual support to fatherless and widows through practical acts of service and Christian worship.

All funds go directly to bless Fatherless and Widows, as there are no overhead or staff costs for this ministry.

Alabaster Ministries operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the United States, and  U.S. Tax Deductible Receipts will be issued.
