Ruth Ruibal

In 1995, Bob and Kathy Fitts had a dream of starting a ministry to bless fatherless and widows.  To put “feet” to the dream, a benefit concert was scheduled for April 1996 as the initial step into Alabaster Ministries.  At that time, the actual recipient for the benefit was an unknown factor.  But when Bob was speaking at a worship conference in Costa Rica in December 1995, a young woman approached him after his session on Worshiping God in the Fire.  She said, “I know exactly what you’re talking about.  My father was just assassinated in Cali, Colombia”.  After visiting with her more, it was immediately evident that Ruth Ruibal, widow of the Bolivian evangelist Julio Ruibal, would be the woman that Alabaster Ministries would be blessing.

Ruth and her personal assistant, Delia, were brought to Kona, Hawaii for a week of refreshment, concluding with a benefit concert.  At the concert, each of those attending brought flower leis to heap on her in the traditional Hawaiian style, and a generous offering was received on her behalf.
